Firsthand, not secondhand

I’ve Sailed All Four. That Changes the Conversation.

My recommendations come from time spent onboard every ship in the fleet, not from reading brochures. I know how the cabins feel, how sea days flow and which details are worth paying for.

As a Certified Gold First Mate, I’ve completed Virgin Voyages’ advisor training at its highest level. You get straight answers about whether Virgin is right for you, and help getting the details right if it is.

An honest look

Is Virgin Voyages Right for You?

Virgin feels different from a traditional cruise. That’s exactly why some travelers love it, and why it isn’t for everyone.

Probably a great fit

  • Adults who want a ship with no children onboard
  • Travelers who care about food and prefer many restaurants over one big buffet
  • Couples and friends who like a social, design-forward atmosphere
  • People who like having restaurant dining, basic Wi-Fi and group fitness classes included

Maybe not the right fit

  • Families traveling with anyone under 18
  • Travelers who love formal nights and traditional cruise rituals
  • Anyone who wants the widest possible range of itineraries and home ports
  • Guests who want a very quiet, low-energy atmosphere every evening

Making the decision

What Should I Book?

Itinerary and destination

Start with where and when you want to sail. The best ship for you is often the one sailing the route you actually want.

Trip length

Short sailings are a great first taste. Longer voyages give you more port days and a slower rhythm onboard.

Cabin category

Location and layout matter more than the label. I’ll help you weigh what you’ll really use against what it costs.

Sea Terrace

A private terrace with a hammock is one of Virgin’s signature cabins. For many travelers it’s worth it. For some, the savings go further elsewhere.

RockStar Quarters

Suites with added perks and service. They make sense for some trips and celebrations, but not every traveler needs them.

Your travel style

Night owl or early riser, foodie or beach lover. Your answers shape which ship and sailing I’d suggest.

Questions

Frequently Asked Virgin Voyages Questions

Is Virgin Voyages adults only?

Yes. Virgin Voyages sails adults only, for guests 18 and older. That shapes the whole feel of the ship, from the dining to the entertainment.

Which Virgin Voyages ship should I choose?

The four ships share the same overall style, so the better question is usually which itinerary, dates and cabin fit you. Having sailed all four, I can tell you where the real differences are for the trip you have in mind.

Is a Sea Terrace worth it?

For many travelers, yes. Private outdoor space adds a lot to sea days and quiet mornings. If you plan to spend most of your time around the ship or ashore, a different cabin can be the smarter value.

What is included on Virgin Voyages?

Restaurant dining, essential drinks, basic Wi-Fi, entertainment and group fitness classes are included. Essential drinks means items like still and sparkling water, soda, non-pressed juice, sachet tea and drip coffee, not alcohol. Gratuities are not included for newer bookings. Inclusions can change, so I’ll confirm the current details for your sailing before you book.

Should I use a travel advisor to book Virgin Voyages?

Booking with an advisor usually costs you nothing extra, and you get someone who knows the ships to help with cabin choices, timing and questions before and after you book. I wrote more about what a travel advisor does for a cruise.

How do I choose a Virgin Voyages itinerary?

Start with when you can travel and how long you want to be away, then compare the ports and the number of sea days. The Voyage Finder shows current sailings, and I’m happy to help you narrow them down.

Still Not Sure Which Voyage Fits?

Browse current sailings yourself, or tell me what you have in mind and I’ll narrow it down for you.
